About Us
FAQs

How long does it take to complete the program?

We run 35 hours a week until our students earn 1800 hours to graduate. This usually takes 12-13 months.

Do you have to know how to cut hair, braid, color before you start school?

NO! We spend the first 8 weeks training our students in the classroom on techniques and skills using their mannequins. We start right away with hands on training so you know what to expect when you complete your 360 hours and begin to work on clients.

Can you still work part time and go to school?

Yes, many students have part time jobs while they attend school.  Our hours are Mondays 11:30 - 7 and Tuesday - Fridays 9 - 4:30.

Upon completion of the 1800 hours, do you get a license?

Our students take a state board exam  held at the Fargo schools monthy. Our passing rate for this exam is always in the upper 90%. We administer 3 mock exams throughout the year to ensure our students know what to expect at their final exam time.

Is financial aid available?

Yes! We have financial aid available for those who qualify, both private and government programs. The government programs are based on need. The financial assistance programs are very flexible and can be tailored to your individual requirements.  To apply for financial aid - go to the free application at www.fafsa.gov.ed and enter our school code: 007756 for Fargo and 010406 for Grand Forks.

What are the requirements to enroll?

Students must be at least 17 years of age and have complete their High School Diploma or GED and pay the $100 fee.

What is a day like at school?

We offer a wide variety of activities, from basic theory, hands on training and many advanced education classes. We make sure by the time our students graduate that they have had the best, well rounded education possible.

How do you accommodate people coming from out of town in regards to housing and day care?

Just ask! We can help our students find the resources needed to relocate - even match them up with other students who may be looking for roommates. (link to in-forum here and child care resources)
